Low-MFR Impact PP for Crates

Returnable crates and pails live hard lives: stacking, dropping, washing and years of reuse. The resin must be stiff enough to hold load, tough enough to survive impact, and stable enough not to creep under weight.

Low melt flow supports stiffness and creep resistance, while the impact copolymer phase supplies the toughness needed for drops and cold storage. That pairing is the rationale behind grades like EPS30R.

Reuse also rewards chemical resistance and easy cleaning, traits polypropylene already offers, which is why it dominates rigid industrial and agricultural containers.

Designing For Stack And Drop

Wall thickness, corner radii and ribbing share load so no spot carries too much. Good design lets a modest grade perform far above its raw numbers.

Specifying for the stacked and dropped condition, not the static one, is what keeps crates in service season after season.
