EPS30R Thick-Wall Molding & Creep

Thick-wall parts such as crates and pails pose a different challenge from thin sections: heat builds up inside the wall and must be removed before ejection, or the part sinks and distorts. Sinopec PP EPS30R is a low-MFR impact copolymer suited to this regime.

Low melt flow gives the resin body and load-bearing character, while the impact phase keeps it tough under drop and stacking. Together they suit reusable, abuse-tolerant containers.

Creep is the quiet risk in thick parts: under sustained load the material slowly deforms. A lower-MFR copolymer resists this better than a free-flowing grade, which is why thick-wall jobs favor the former.

Cooling And Packing Thick Walls

Extended cooling is unavoidable for thick sections; the core must solidify enough to hold shape on ejection. Insufficient cooling shows up as sink marks and post-eject distortion.

Generous pack and hold pressure feed the shrinking core and limit voids. Balancing these against cycle time is the daily work of thick-wall molding.
